More of our favorite Bandcamp picks
Welcome back to our Bandcamp series, showcasing some of our favorite artists!
Normally, we like to do these posts before a Bandcamp Friday. However, the next one isn’t until September 6th, so we wanted to recommend a few albums to tide you over until then. Buying music from artists you love is one of the best ways to support them, and if you need some ideas of what to add to your library, read on!
STUCK by Puce Mary
A Noise Engineering favorite, Puce Mary is an experimental electronic and noise artist hailing from Denmark. Sometimes meditative and thought provoking, sometimes grating and downright scary, her most recent release is definitely worth a listen. Featuring eight atmospheric tracks blending vocal samples, real-world sounds, and subtle synthetic undertones, STUCK is an incredible album exploring a wide variety of sounds and textures.
Living With Ladybirds by Helena Hauff
If you need something more danceable, German DJ and producer Helena Hauff has the perfect EP for you: Living With Ladybirds is a wonderfully upbeat EP with four electro and acid house tracks. Showing clear mastery of classic dance genres, gearheads will love the equipment showcased, too: Living With Ladybirds was recorded entirely with analog instruments.
futurism by mini bear
Rounding things out with a journey to the world of electronic pop, mini bear is an LA-based producer, vocalist, and music educator. Taking a trip through the extensive mini bear discography, her debut full-length album futurism is a unique production with a distinctive vibe. Full of chiptune timbres and retro sound design, futurism contrasts cheerful sounds with melancholy and emotional lyrics.
