Morbus Legio is a unique combination of processor and noise generator. If you want to create wide noise that can be CV controlled and spread across the stereo field, Morbus is the perfect oscillator for you: with three CV-able parameters that affect how noise is generated, plus a wavefolder and a chorus, a huge palette of noise is available at your fingertips.
Or, use Morbus to process an external signal: soft clipping, wavefolding, FWR distortion, and chorus can all be applied to an external signal, and the internal noise oscillator can be mixed with the output or bypassed. Create lofi effects with low-frequency noise and some saturation, or unleash noisy, distorted chaos with extreme settings.
Morbus Legio is available free to Legio owners, but does not come as a stand-alone module. Click the button to go to the Firmware Swap app to get your noise on, or check out the World of Legio for all things Legio. Overlays and replacement panels are also available!

What's In The Box?
“Are you saying I can play chords with BIA (personal favorite voice ever)? Yes. You get polyphony. It’s awesome. I also like the random button to start fresh with, probably some settings I wouldn’t find myself. Very inspiring.”
Arthur Hnatek (Tigran Hamasyan, Erik Truffaz Quartet)
“A sound designer’s dream. NE’s plugins bring the experimental environment of modular synthesis and Eurorack effects ‘in the box’. The audio quality is excellent. If you’ve been wanting to explore what the world of Eurorack is all about, Noise Engineering should be your first port of call.”
Danielle Thwaites (Daiza)
“I was more than pleasantly surprised by the arrival of these plugin versions, they sound absolutely authentic to the originals and I really like the clear and minimal design of the GUI. Now when I need that extra BIA or five for my compositions I will certainly harness the power of these great plugins!”
Daniel Miller (Mute Records)
“Noise Engineering’s new plugin bundle is amazingly versatile and covers a ton of sonic ground. Being able to add the spatially reverberant power of Desmodus on other virtual instruments is astonishing.”
Sofia Hultquist (Drum & Lace)
“Noise Engineering’s Eurorack modules have been some of my favorite tools for a number of years. To be able to take the signature NE sound with the freedom and versatility that a plugin affords (hello polyphony!) is truly inspirational. Beautifully brutal.”
Matt Lange
“The plugins sound amazing. The Basimilus is so punchy, and the default preset is killer! It will make for an amazing tuned kick drum that can change pitch with the chords of the song. It will also give a million new ideas for my hardware version.”
Michael Bradford
“Basimilus Iteritas and Cursus Vereor give you endless possibilities of creating so many different types of sounds from metallic to otherworldly, and their simple layouts make it easy to make an interesting sound right away.”
Lauren Kop (MiniBear)
“As someone who is drawn to the guttural and gritty sounds of Noise Engineering’s modules, but who came up using computers to create music, these plugins are a dream come true! They take every aspect of the physical modules (including the quality of sound) and put it into an easy-to-use digital version.”
Elana Belle Carroll (Party Nails)
“The Desmodus plugin has quickly become my go-to reverb/delay for creating interesting textures. The shift mode introduces beautiful harmonics to anything I slap it on, be it a piano, a guitar, or a string section. It’s one of the plugins that has the most character in my arsenal.”
René G. Boscio
“The Noise Engineering plugins are a great way to get the sonic palette of their modules in a convenient recallable DAW-friendly format, and also a great way to get a taste for their sound without a Eurorack chassis. Both formats are a permanent fixture in my setup that I use on almost every production. Highly recommended…”
Rhys Fulber (Front Line Assembly, Delirium; Producer, Fear Factory and more)
“The Desmodus module stole my heart earlier this year, and being able to use that on my voice is a dream. This is easily my favorite plugin – I put it on EVERYTHING!”
Tiff Randol (IAMEVE)
“I’ve always loved the Noise Engineering sound, so naturally wanting to work in polyphony with that sound was something I always greatly desired. Now it’s easier than ever to have the NE sound in polyphony with as many voices as you have fingers or until you max your CPU"
Tom Hall, Cycling ’74, Errorgrid
“As someone who’s been a longtime user of NE modules, I am blown away by what they have achieved in the plugin space. I’ve never heard any other plugin come as close to the grit and depth of modular quite like this. I think these are really amazing tools.”
Tori Letzler (TINYKVT)
“Everything I own by Noise Engineering is inspirational to me. I love the lateral “out of the box” thinking that has gone into designing these instruments and am supremely excited by the advent of the NE plugins; now I can have my favourite modules in my laptop. These are exciting times.”
Rik Simpson/Rikademus (Producer, Coldplay, Jay-Z, and more)
